According to FAO, the demand for shrimp is expected to grow between 5 and 10-fold by 2050. The current shrimp broodstock market is estimated to approximately USD 300m and is expected to grow to USD 1.5-3Bn by 2050. Based upon the former Ceniacua shrimp programme in Colombia,
Benchmark intends to expand its breeding business to serve all of the major shrimp producing markets with genetically advanced products. Having Oscar on board, brings this vision within reach.
