The founding vision for Benchmark was to become a catalyst for change in sustainable food production. Building a profitable, thriving and ethical company where employees feel inspired, valued and motivated to make a difference.
Our people are our most important asset and we believe in investing in them and the communities around us by building long-term relationships based on mutual respect, trust and benefit.

To make a business like ours work you need special people with a shared purpose, culture and values.
Our growth and continued success is down to the hard work, talent and dedication of every member of our team. Maintaining a culture where everyone feels a valued member of our global team, regardless of geography or role, is central to our strategy.
Our culture as a business is defined by our core values
Brave & Ambitious
We challenge the status quo to create understanding, opportunity and innovation.
None of us are as good as all of us.
We are clear on our vision and know what success looks like.
Courteous & Have Fun
Our manners matter, our humour helps.
We deliver the day job, we keep it simple, we are honest and straightforward.
One Benchmark Team
- We strive to attract a diverse workforce and provide equal opportunities throughout our business
- We nurture diversity in the workplace and promote respect and acceptance regardless of race, age, gender, native language, political beliefs, religion, sexual orientation
- We aim to conduct our activities without discrimination and value everyone as an individual
In 2017, we produced our 1 st UK gender pay gap report. During 2018, we rolled out this initiative across our global sites and are committed to boosting female representation at senior levels to create a truly representative workforce.
We were honoured to be included in the 5th edition of ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’, making us 1 of only 5 companies to make the list for 5 consecutive years.
The report shines a light on some of the UK’s most ambitious and fast-growing companies, covering over 100 sectors. Our success and inclusion in this report is down to the hard work, talent and dedication of every member of our team.
