Job Purpose
Responsible for commercial activities in the Nordics, this role translates Benchmark Animal Health (BAH) strategy into a commercial plan covering all customers in the region.

The Senior Commercial Manager strategically maintains and strengthens existing relationships with customers, identifies new opportunities and develops these profitably with the BAH business and teams at a global and regional level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with key accounts to meet revenue targets, identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Implement the aqua commercial plan and objectives to deliver agreed target levels of business volume and profit
  • Develop and maintain a value added support service to customers to ensure good working business relationships
  • Develop relationships within Key Accounts, Key Opinion Leaders, trade and producer organisations through a significant visible presence in the field
  • Maintain and manage customer contact in negotiations of new and existing supply contracts
  • Manage sales forecasting, provides demand into the S&OP process and inventory stock levels, liaising with Global Product Managers, to guide production and delivery, taking into account seasonal variations and market demand
  • Responsible for sales budget and costs of sales team
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to identify, develop and deliver successful marketing initiatives
  • Be involved in product development strategy, market support and field trials
  • Identify, build and develop constructive relationships with team colleagues (Technical, Business Development, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, etc.) across the Benchmark Group, and external contacts to facilitate team working and the development of new business opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with other Benchmark divisions and business areas to present a One Benchmark approach to the market
  • Collect relevant Market Intelligence from customers and competitors
  • Attends and actively participates at key industry seminars and events representing Benchmark as appropriate
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE company policies and actively promotes a Health and Safe working environment for themselves, any direct report and colleagues
  • Actively promoting a quality led approach and looking to continue to improve the role of quality in the commercial activities within the region

Qualifications and experience

  • University degree education or equivalent industry experience
  • Significant commercial experience in the Norwegian salmon industry
  • Experience in negotiations
  • Leading and managing a sales team
  • Fluent in spoken and written Norwegian and English

Reports to: Head of Commercial, Europe
Direct Reports: none immediately, with the remit to grow a team applicable to the business
Location: Bergen, Norway with regular national and international travel
