Job Purpose

Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a qualified veterinary surgeon to play a key role in the ongoing development of its veterinary business. Reporting to the Directors and based at our Swindon office, the role will involve assessing new ideas for educational focused products and services, carrying out market research, setting up new project plans and managing new projects through to market launch. The successful candidate will work within the Product Development team at Improve International (a Benchmark Company) and also across the other areas of the Division and Benchmark.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Liaising with the sales and marketing team regarding new product and service initiatives
  •  Evaluating new product and service initiatives – carrying out initial market research and financial modelling as necessary
  •  Creating project plans for new product and service initiatives from early review through to ongoing delivery
  •  Working closely with key stakeholders including the target audience, veterinary specialists and experts, venue providers and equipment suppliers
  •  Working with a recognised project management system to enable the management of the projects to agreed deadlines
  •  Assisting with course creation to include both face to face delivery methods and online/blended learning
  •  Assisting with the production of agreed marketing and sales collateral
  •  Presenting at Board level and providing regular project updates

Qualifications and experience

  •  Qualified veterinary surgeon and RCVS registered
  •  Excellent English language skills
  •  Current UK driving licence
  •  Good knowledge of the veterinary sector and the educational requirements of both vets and veterinary nurses
  •  Current or previous management or project delivery experience in a veterinary practice or a similar environment

  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills plus an ability to work as part of a close team and also on own initiative
  •  Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and to agreed deadlines
  •  Good level of computer literacy
  •  Willingness to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends on occasion
  •  Willingness to participate in occasional foreign travel
