Rueben Johansen
Ruben embodies our Values, especially passionate. He has a deep commitment to Benchmark, our products, services and people.
A quick learner in everything, he drives social activities in our Bergen office and willingly takes on additional tasks, like handling egg deliveries in other regions. He postponed his vacation plans to ensure company availability for deliveries, displaying dedication to the whole team and our customers. Though no longer part of the marketing HUB, he remains enthusiastic about assisting with various marketing activities, showcasing versatility in tasks like video editing, student events, giveaways, and website updates.
Ruben initiates improvements in work processes. He significantly contributed by implementing an Ova survey in the BreedControl system, highlighting his innovative capabilities.
As part of a series of Q&As with our LOV Award winners we interviewed Ruben to find out more about his role and what the Passionate value means to him:
Can you describe your role at Benchmark?
I’ve moved from Trainee in the Marketing department to Sales & Technical Associate in the Commercial department where I work with our salmon ova customers. I service customers in the Southern part of Norway and also assist with deliveries in the mid region of Norway. In addition, I work with our customer portal in BreedControl, ‘My Pages’, which was successfully launched November 30 last year.
Can you tell us what you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy the office atmosphere in Bergen, while at the same time I enjoy the fact that I can collaborate with colleagues from across the world. I also enjoy the ability to travel for work.
What does passionate value mean to you?
To me, being passionate means to do your best and influence the situations you can influence in the best possible way. It means to create a work environment for your colleagues that allows them to thrive and succeed. It means to be someone whom others can depend on.
What has been your favourite Bergen office social which you have helped to organise this year?
An internal event in 2023 which was very fun to arrange was the Ping Pong & Peroni tournament. 13 players from Bergen and Lønningdal competed to be the rightful keeper of the special ping pong trophy until the next tournament.
